Lessons from Canada sparks interest
September 11, 2025
Since Lessons from Canada: an equal school system is possible was launched in early August, we have received significant interest in the report’s findings and recommendations. The report has been distributed widely across Australia into the inboxes of politicians, thought leaders, teacher associations and education research institutes, among others.
Some of the reactions are:
“Our national identity deserves a common framework.”
“Extraordinary research and analysis. Congratulations and I support this.”
“This report should be recommended reading for all Education Departments across the nation and compulsory reading for every state and national politician – not just those with responsibility for Education.”
We are committed to continuing to spread the word that an equal school system is possible. We are available to talk about the findings and our recommendations. Recent presentations include: The NSW Principals Assembly and Education Funders’ Network – Philanthropy Australia. If a presentation interests you, please send an email to canada@all-learning.org.au
The independent and specialist media are covering the report positively. Articles include: https://insidestory.org.au/lessons-for-australian-schooling/;

The report has also received coverage in Quebec with reporter Caroline Plante interviewing Tom Greenwell who told her that: “We are issuing a friendly warning to Quebec: segregation harms teachers and children, who achieve lower results than if they were in more diverse classes.” He said that “the only light on the horizon for Quebecis the “detailed and sophisticated” proposal from the citizen movement L’École ensemble. https://montreal.citynews.ca/2025/08/23/australian-experts-quebecs-education-system/
