Australia Learning Lecture is delighted to collaborate with Cool.org to promote Passion-led learning resources that explore the importance of passion-led learning and how teachers can embed it in classrooms..
These resources include 3 free, sequential professional learning courses focusing on how teachers can bring students’ passions to the forefront of learning, along with 3 exemplar lessons that explore passion-led learning.
The three lessons make it simple to get students started on their passion-led learning journey regardless of the teaching and learning dynamic.

✅ A small group lesson is perfect for, well, small groups.
✅ And the whole class lesson is the way to go if you’re ready to tackle passion-led learning with your whole class.

At a glance:
Teachers will learn what passion-led learning is and why it is important. Starting with your passions, you will then learn how to support students to uncover their passions and engage in meaningful self-directed learning. You will also consider strategies to engage your peers in passion-led learning. You will also get a range of practical tips and examples to help you support your students to be engaged learners following their passions. The course takes about two hours to complete.
Teachers will learn:
- How passion-led learning benefits students
- How to get other staff engaged in passion-led learning
- How to create a vision for passion-led learning in your school
In Course 2, you will explore what a Passion Profile is and how this process evolves, including the role of student interviews and student strengths, as well as how to involve families in this work. This course will take you 2 hours to complete.

- What a Passion Profile is and how to use one
- How to have conversations with students about their passions
- What to do with Passion Profiles
In this course, you will learn what passion-led learning is and why it is important. This course takes about two hours to complete.
Teachers will learn:
- How to share profiles with other teachers
- How to integrate passion-led learning into the classroom
- How to practically implement passion-led learning
